A Place of Peace.

“That hope is what encouraged me to grasp hold of my recovery and hang on.”

– excerpt from Jami’s Story

Romans 8-38

We daydream of weekends, of days with nothing to do, of a chance to catch our breath.  Those are treasured days, and we find rest for our bodies, minds, and souls.   Whatever challenges or fears we’re facing are set aside, if only for a day.   It’s peace, but it’s short-lived.  Soon enough, we’re back to the anxiety, insecurities, and fear.

Today’s promise remind’s us that when we fix our eyes on Christ Jesus, that we don’t have anything to fear, that there is nothing in life or death, our past or our future that can change this fact:  Jesus Christ loves us and gives us the victory.  Nothing…no experience, no person, no trauma can take that away.  It’s ours forever and ever.   We all face grief, struggles, and hardships.  He promises to be with us during our struggles. He promises us the victory over our challenges.

It’s ok to believe it, to accept it that it’s for each one of us, and to know that no matter what comes our way today or tomorrow, that He loves us and will show us the way through.   That brings me incredible peace when I remember that He is bigger than anything I have faced, am facing now, or will face tomorrow.  He is bigger than anything you will face, too.   Having this security in God’s love for us is something we can claim for ourselves, day after day, and know that nothing can ever take that peace away.  Peace.
