The View from Rock Bottom

“I encountered Him in such powerful ways as He began to do a major work in my heart and in my life. And by the end He radically set me free from depression, cutting, and suicidal thoughts. I never picked up another razor blade again and was filled with this new sense of freedom and joy I’d never known before.” – excerpt from LaShondra’s Story

Today’s Promise reminds us to trust Him when things aren’t looking so good.   When we feel helpless, when we feel like we need Him, that’s when we let go enough to let His strength work for us.   That’s when we give it over to Him and surrender.  “Fine.  Have your way then, Lord.”   That’s when He can.   Though rock bottom isn’t the most comfortable place to be, it’s the best seat in the house when it comes to watching God’s strength and power displayed in our life.

2-cor-12-9-coverBut he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9

  1. I am trying all over again after getting over years of depression, I am also trying to write some stuff as an exercise to be in touch with everything I thought or had to get over this phase. Now it is more challenging time as it is easy to relapse. But I am staying strong, so yeah pray for that. (However, you should know I now have a bit less faith in God. but I do believe in his existence, at least on paper.
