From Regrets to Restoration

We all have regrets.  We’ve all blown it in one way or another.  We make mistakes, and in more ways than one, we end up paying for those mistakes.   Sometimes we live with the weight of those regrets for a long, long time.    Have you hurt someone unintentionally or made a mistake that caused a lot of damage?   Let’s dig into this and see if there is a way to find peace when we can’t undo what’s already been done.   I know a story about a man named Peter that we can start with.

A Warning

Pauls sermon posts (8)

31-32 “Simon, stay on your toes. Satan has tried his best to separate all of you from me, like chaff from wheat. Simon, I’ve prayed for you in particular that you not give in or give out. When you have come through the time of testing, turn to your companions and give them a fresh start.”

33 Peter said, “Master, I’m ready for anything with you. I’d go to jail for you. I’d die for you!”

34 Jesus said, “I’m sorry to have to tell you this, Peter, but before the rooster crows you will have three times denied that you know me.”

– (Luke 22:31-34 MSG)

This was Jesus speaking, and He was warning Peter about trouble ahead, and the regrets that He would suffer.   Jesus knew Peter well enough to see beyond the mistakes to the purpose He had planned for him.   What about us?  Can He see past our mistakes, too?
Listen in to the rest of this story, and we’ll explore it together.

Have you made mistakes that you aren’t able to undo and then found restoration?  Will you tell us about it?  There is a tremendous peace that comes from sharing our mistakes with God and letting Him heal our hearts.   Sharing your story can encourage someone else to find hope today.
