The Quieter Side of Christmas

IMG_6140“We love because He first loved us.”

I shared a moment of our story in the post below especially for those among us that recognize the ache of loss, the sting of loneliness during Christmas, and to show that you’re not alone! It’s when Christ meets us in our lowest point that He gifts us with Compassion. It’s when we fall on our knees asking, “Why?” that He gives us Trust. The temptation to sink into despair, to mull over life’s unfairness, and close others off is so strong that it compels us to live that way, behind walls we build to protect our broken hearts.

No, my friends, don’t fall for it. There is so much more. Deep into the depth of our suffering reaches a hand that encourages us to look up and see the love in His eyes. A love that is stronger than our fears, a love that heals and restores. A love that teaches what it is to be loved, and to first entrust our hearts to Him.

Some years we are on the receiving end of compassion, and some years we have the opportunity to give it. I don’t know which year this is for you, but with all of my heart, I wish you healing and peace, hope with the strength to keep walking forward, this Christmas.  THIS is life.  THIS is peace.~ Christina

Which end of the giving and receiving of help and compassion are you at the Christmas?  Will you tell us about it?  It’s in the letting go of what we want for our lives, the way it was supposed to be, that we are able to really begin to live.  Your story can bring hope to someone today.
