“I am full of joy for not to be in that time and space anymore. And how odd it is to say, I am grateful for this time because during my darkest day, God sent people to walk along side me. GOD MET ME WHERE I WAS AND WALKED ME OUT.” – excerpt from Mar’s Story
“I remember looking around that night at a particularly rough scene, and whispering, “This isn’t who I am.” I realize now that it was at that moment that Jesus met me there, in the midst of the deepest hurt and darkest place I had ever known. Then He began to lead me out.” – excerpt from Chris’s Story
“I have learned there is life after tragedy, sometimes we just have to be willing to go deeper and let God take the lead to find it.” – excerpt from Laurie’s Story
“I didn’t do it. God had covered my butt every step of the way. He kept me out of prison, out of a mental institution, AND out of the graveyard.” – excerpt from Scott’s Story
Most of us have stories of times of hardship. Some come through abuse and betrayal, others come through illness or loss. All of them can send us into a tailspin. That’s where the stories referenced above come in.
Today’s promise reminds us to look up, to look to Jesus, to rescue us from our troubles. He will help us when the bills are stacked up and the creditors are relentlessly emailing us. He will help us when we’re up against impossible odds. He will help us when we can’t let go. He will help us when the trials come one after another. He will help us when we don’t know where to turn. He will help us when we can’t see our way through the mess we’re in. And…we don’t have to be afraid. Each time an obstacle falls in our path, we can look up, and look for Him. He is there, every time we call on Him. That promise is the same for all of us. Use the prayer in today’s journal page to ask Him to help you out of the trouble you may be facing.
