“I have an interview tomorrow.”
“What if they don’t like me?”
“I’m not ready for this exam.”
“I have no idea how we’re going to make it.”
“We just don’t have any answers.”
“What if they turn me away?”
What do we do with thoughts like this? So many times we are afraid of what someone will do to us, or say to us, or feel about us. I shared my story with a treasured friend a few days ago, and was really nervous that they might reject our friendship because of my past. When I went to see them next, I was afraid of their response. That was awkward. So, what do we do with fears like this? Jesus invites us to bring them to Him. In my case, I was able to thank God for the awesome friendship that allowed for honesty, and trust Him to keep guiding it. What about having enough to make ends meet, or getting the answers we are waiting on?
We don’t have to hang on to these thoughts, and let them guide our decisions or consume our thoughts. He promises to give us Peace that we don’t even understand. Peace that doesn’t make any sense. Is this even possible? Remember, even the winds and waves know His name. He promises to give us rest. We have the freedom to choose each day, to live in fear or to live in peace. Let’s choose Peace.
