He’s Still on the Throne

“I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.  To see what God has planned for me.  God does not waste our pain.” – excerpt from Mar’s Story

The struggle to “make it” on our own can govern our decisions, our schedules, and our priorities.   God has a plan for each of us, and in order to find it, we have to trust Him.  Trust?   I know that’s a difficult thing for a lot of us to do.  We’ve been hurt enough, lost enough, and learned enough to know…we have to look out for ourselves.  Right?  Well, not exactly.   I used to feel that way, after I took a blow when my marriage ended about 17 years ago.   I was hurt and betrayed by those I trusted the most.  For a long time, I walked alone in a self-preserving shell and didn’t really trust anyone.  God was there, though, during that time.  He patiently unraveled all the broken heartstrings and gently washed away the wounds, all the while showing me that I could trust Him.  I didn’t learn to trust Him overnight, rather, it was the cumulative effect of His constantly meeting me at my point of need, and waiting patiently as I wore myself out trying to fix things myself.  It sounds a little strange even as I write it, but God seemed to get what I was feeling, and still loved me anyway.   Little by little, I saw His work in my life begin to change my perspective, and my level of contentment.   I did learn to trust Him to be the one that meets my needs, the one that protects me, and the one that is always with me.  In that, I learned that neither my circumstances, nor the actions of others against me, can define my level of happiness.   There have been sad, difficult circumstances since then, and times when the ends just did not meet, but through each one of those, I could still see His hand, beckoning me forward…urging me to trust Him.    If you’re walking through a storm now, and things just aren’t coming together like they should, I urge you to give God a chance in this.  He promises that because of Jesus Christ, and what He did for us, that God is able and willing to supply our every need.

Philippians 4-19And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
 – Philippians 4:19

Today’s promise reminds us that when we put our hope and trust in God, and in His promise of salvation, that He will provide for our needs.  We don’t have to carry the load by ourselves.  We need only to trust and follow.  Sometimes the hard seasons come to bring us in closer, so that He can teach us vital skills that we’ll need for the path He has planned for us.  I would not be able to write of this hope for you today, if I had not learned to call out to Him during my own struggles.   I have seen His power, His provision, and His promises come true in my own story.   I love the lyrics in the song I’ve featured below, “You’re world’s not falling apart, it’s falling into place.  I’m on the throne, stop holding on, and just be held.”  You may be facing something that you cannot see your way through today.  Friend, let me assure you…you are not alone.

If this is new to you, feel free to reach out to us and tell us your story.  You are not alone.
